The Varnavas Bread Museum made a “stop” in Milan, Italy, with part of its exhibits last week. In particular, it participated honorably in the 7th International Conference of Palestinians with its own booth and in cooperation with the Greek-Palestinian Association they “embroidered” their own bread.
Both the folklore society and the historical folklore museum of Varnavas presented in a specially designed space the folk culture and culture of Attica in general and the Varnavas community in particular. The 10-member delegation of volunteers was accompanied by the president of the folklore society Ms. Milea Pappa, the head of the bread museum Ms. Anastasia Mantzou-Mexis, their scientific partner, the historian and writer Mr. Nikos Kleitsikas and the director of the museum and prefectural councillor of eastern Attica Mr. Petros Katsikis.
The exhibition was visited by thousands of delegates and ordinary visitors as well as personalities from the Arab world and European parliamentarians, while the exhibition was also broadcast on Arabic TV media. The “bread streets” will continue their journey, this time in Greece and specifically in the prefecture of Kavala from 17 to 19 May.
